With rebellions/ uprising/ rioting in countries throughout the Middle East ongoing Mount Allison students Aya Al-Shalchi of Libya and Noor Buzaboon of Bahrain, with help from the International Centre, organized a public event to discuss the ongoing crises.
I was fortunate enough to be there with a camera to document it. However, I was unfortunate to have been loaned a camera with a microphone that was so badly misconfiguration that you can barely make out the speakers. Although the audio quality is very poor I think it's important to show it did happen. Apparently so did the CBC, who sent a reporter to cover the event. Here's the video. Unfortunately Youtube limits uploads to 15 minutes so I had to use Veoh, which requires your to download a player to watch the whole video but it's an option if you want to get an idea of what happened.

Former University Centre at Mount Allison University
As part of a collection of Sackville/Campus tour videos I created a made a short tour of the old Memorial Library/ old Student Centre/ Windsor Theatre. As the building has been mostly unused (with the exception of Windsor theatre) and waiting demolition I was unable to create a record of all of it but these are the areas still open to students. This should be further proof that the old student centre is not useful in its current state and should be replaced by the planned Fine and Performing Arts Centre.

10 Songs About Love
In an earlier post I wrote "Most things in life are personal but music seems to be the closest thing to universal expression we've created." It's hard to describe a lot of feelings in words and expressing love is probably one of the hardest to really explain. It's something that makes what would be a chore into a mission, and seems to make everything else matter a bit less. It is a personal feeling but below you'll find ten musical attempts at trying to express it. While maybe not the "best" ten, these selections from different genres and eras try to get the point across in different ways. I think if you've been in love before then at least one of these songs will have some resonance with you.
I Got You Babe- Sonny and Cher
Let's Stay Together- Al Green
I Walk The Line- Johnny Cash
First Day of My Life- Bright Eyes
Maybe I'm Amazed- Wings/Paul McCartney
Tell Her About It- Billy Joel
I Could Not Ask For More- Edwin McCain
And I Love Her- The Beatles
Such Great Heights- Iron and Wine (Postal Service Cover)
I Want You To Want Me- Cheap Trick
